Fisher Funds is one of New Zealand’s leading investment management firms, with a strong focus on delivering long-term value for our clients. We are committed to playing a leadership role in responsible investing, and we are looking for a senior leader to drive this commitment forward.

As Head of Responsible Investments, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering Fisher Funds’ enterprise-wide Responsible Investment (RI) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy. This role operates at the intersection of investment strategy, regulatory obligations, and sustainable finance. You will lead the integration of ESG considerations across all investment processes, policies, and reporting, and represent the firm in key industry and regulatory forums. This is a pivotal leadership position, requiring the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders, ensure regulatory alignment, and deliver meaningful impact for clients, communities, and the environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the development and continuous enhancement of Fisher Funds’ Responsible Investment strategy, aligned with fiduciary duty and client values
  • Overseeing ESG governance, policy frameworks, and reporting, including climate-related disclosures and industry certifications
  • Embedding climate risk and opportunity assessments within portfolio management processes
  • Designing and executing stewardship and active ownership strategies, including proxy voting and corporate engagement
  • Representing Fisher Funds in external forums, regulatory consultations, and client-facing engagements
  • Building ESG knowledge and capability across the Investment team and wider organisation

About you:

  • Significant experience in responsible investing, ESG integration, or sustainable finance, ideally within an institutional investment or fiduciary context
  • Strong understanding of relevant frameworks and standards (e.g., TCFD, UN PRI, RIAA, NZ CRD)
  • Demonstrated leadership in driving strategy, influencing investment decisions, and delivering enterprise-level change
  • Exceptional communication skills, with experience engaging with a broad range of stakeholders, including regulators and clients
  • Tertiary qualification in finance, economics, law, environmental science, or a related discipline; further qualifications in ESG or sustainability are highly regarded
