About the Role:

Are you passionate about creating meaningful impact in your community while driving business growth and delivering outstanding client outcomes? At Fisher Funds, we’re committed to helping New Zealanders achieve their financial goals and we’re looking for a dynamic, purpose-driven Regional Growth Lead to bring that to life in the Taranaki region.

In this unique, standalone role, you’ll take full ownership of growing Fisher Funds’ presence across Taranaki. You’ll combine strategic business development with the delivery of high-quality, personalised financial advice, helping clients make confident decisions about their financial futures. As the face of Fisher Funds in Taranaki, you’ll build strong relationships with clients, community leaders, and key regional partners such as Toi Foundation and TSB Bank.

You’ll also lead local initiatives that promote financial wellbeing, grow our client base, and strengthen our brand presence. This is the ideal opportunity if you’re a natural connector with a passion for the Taranaki community and are driven to grow a purpose-led business.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive Regional Business Development

  • Lead the design and execution of a tailored business development strategy for the Taranaki region, aligned with Fisher Funds’ national growth objectives.
  • Proactively grow our client base by leveraging personal networks, community involvement, digital channels, and referral partnerships.
  • Represent Fisher Funds at local events, conferences, forums and networking functions to increase brand visibility and credibility.
  • Identify and convert new opportunities to grow Funds Under Management (FUM) and build long-term client relationships.

Build and Maintain Strategic Partnerships

  • Develop and nurture strong, collaborative relationships with key regional stakeholders, including Toi Foundation, TSB Bank, and the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce.
  • Act as a trusted liaison between Fisher Funds and local partners, identifying opportunities for joint initiatives that support shared goals and enhance community outcomes.
  • Lead events, sponsorships, and financial wellbeing programmes that amplify Fisher Funds’ impact in the region.
  • Maintain open, transparent communication with partners to ensure alignment and mutual value creation.

Contribute to Regional and National Strategy

  • Share insights and feedback from the Taranaki region to inform Fisher Funds’ broader strategic planning and product development.
  • Monitor and report on key regional performance metrics, including client growth, engagement, and FUM.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support initiatives that enhance the client experience and drive innovation.
  • Act as a regional ambassador for Fisher Funds’ purpose and values, contributing to a high-performance, client-centric culture.

Personalised Financial Advice

  • Offer or connect client with high-quality, goals-based financial advice across our Product Suite
  • Stay up to date with market trends, investment strategies, and regulatory changes to deliver relevant, compliant, and effective advice.
  • Build enduring client relationships based on trust, transparency, and a deep understanding of individual financial goals.

Skills and Experience:

Business Development & Regional Connections

  • A successful track record of generating new business through personal networks, referrals, and community engagement.
  • Experience developing and executing localised business development and marketing strategies.
  • Commercially astute with a strong drive to grow Funds Under Management (FUM) and expand market presence.
  • Deep understanding of the Taranaki region and its community dynamics.
  • Confident representing an organisation at events, seminars, and in the media as a local brand ambassador.

Strategic Relationship Management

  • Skilled in building and maintaining strategic partnerships with key stakeholders such as Toi Foundation, TSB Bank, and the Chamber of Commerce.
  • Ability to identify and lead collaborative initiatives that support shared goals and enhance community outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement.

Independent Leadership & Collaboration

  • Comfortable working autonomously in a standalone regional role while staying connected to national teams.
  • Experience contributing to cross-functional projects and providing regional insights to inform national strategy.
  • A natural mentor and team player who supports a high-performance, client-centric culture.

Digital Fluency & Communication

  • High level of digital literacy, including CRM systems, financial planning tools, and virtual engagement platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts for clients.
  • Confident public speaker and presenter, capable of leading seminars and community events.

Financial Advice Expertise 

  • Holds the New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) – Investment Strand or willing to obtain this qualification.
  • Demonstrates strong competence in operating within New Zealand’s regulatory environment, particularly in relation to KiwiSaver and the provision of financial advice.
  • Strong understanding of investments portfolio construction, and financial planning strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to build long-term, trusted client relationships that drive retention and growth.
