About the Role:
At Fisher Funds, we’re committed to helping New Zealanders build better financial futures. As our GM Product, you’ll lead the strategic direction and delivery of our product portfolio, which includes KiwiSaver, Investments, Superannuation, and our High-Net-Worth/Premium client offerings.
You’ll be responsible for the full product lifecycle, from ideation and design to delivery, performance, and continuous improvement. To ensure our product offerings remain innovative, competitive, and aligned with the evolving needs of our clients and the strategic priorities of the business.
You’ll lead a high-performing, purpose-driven team, working collaboratively across the organisation to bring to life future-ready solutions that deliver exceptional client outcomes. Your influence will extend across the business, shaping product strategy, driving innovation, and championing a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Strategy & Ownership
- Define and lead the overarching product strategy across all core offerings.
- Develop and maintain a product roadmap that supports growth, innovation, and differentiation.
- Ensure strategies are informed by client insights, market trends, and long-term business objectives.
- Monitor product performance using data and analytics to guide decision-making.
KiwiSaver Oversight
- Provide senior leadership and governance across the KiwiSaver suite.
- Drive innovation through digital tools, investment strategies, and service enhancements.
- Act as the senior escalation point and represent the scheme in internal and external forums.
Investments, Superannuation & High-Net-Worth
- Lead the strategic development and management of investment products, retirement solutions, and bespoke offerings.
- Collaborate with Investment Management, Distribution, and Client teams to deliver tailored solutions.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement using market insights and performance data.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure all products meet legal and regulatory requirements, including the Financial Markets Conduct Act and FMA guidance.
- Oversee offer documents, financial statements, tax returns, and regulatory filings in partnership with legal, tax, and compliance teams.
- Proactively manage operational, compliance, and reputational risks across the portfolio.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead and develop a high-performing Product team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Provide strategic direction and mentorship to direct reports.
- Build strong relationships across internal teams and with external stakeholders, including regulators, trustees, and partners.
- Represent Fisher Funds in industry forums and act as a senior contact for product-related initiatives.
Skills and Experience Required:
Strategic Leadership
- Proven experience leading product strategy in financial services, ideally across KiwiSaver, Investments, and Superannuation.
- Ability to align product initiatives with business goals and influence strategic direction.
- Skilled in prioritising and delivering long-term value through innovation and simplification.
Product & Commercial Expertise
- Deep understanding of product lifecycle management, including design, pricing, and delivery.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking.
Regulatory Knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of New Zealand’s regulatory environment, including the Financial Markets Conduct Act and FMA guidance.
- Experience managing compliance across complex product portfolios.
Stakeholder Management
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills across all levels of an organisation.
- Proven ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Experience engaging with regulators, trustees, vendors, and distribution partners.
Team Leadership
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Committed to fostering a collaborative, values-driven culture.
- Experienced in coaching and mentoring senior professionals.
