At Fisher Funds, we're on a mission to help Kiwis grow their wealth and enjoy their future. As one of New Zealand’s leading investment experts, we bring ambition, generosity, inspiration, and excellence to everything we do. We’re now looking for a seasoned Commercial Lead to help us deliver even more value to our clients through best-in-market partnerships and commercial rigour.
About the Role
This is a high-impact role responsible for advancing Fisher Funds’ commercial strategy through sophisticated deal-making, strategic procurement, and supplier relationship excellence. You’ll negotiate key agreements, optimise contract structures, and drive performance through data, governance, and insight.
You’ll work cross-functionally across the organisation, collaborating with teams such as Legal, Finance, IT, Marketing and Operations to deliver tangible commercial outcomes — while simplifying processes and fostering trusted relationships. Within this role you will also have responsibility for leadership across our tenanted premises and lease management, with two reports helping you on the operational management aspects.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead strategic commercial negotiations across services, technology, and marketing.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with public sector expectations.
- Draft and negotiate MSAs, SOWs and performance-based contracts that mitigate risk and drive value.
- Design pricing frameworks, service credits, gain-share mechanisms, and exit terms.
- Implement tiered supplier engagement models and SRM dashboards.
- Provide data-led insights using Excel, Power BI and benchmarking tools.
- Present commercial recommendations clearly to senior leaders and committees.
- Build benefit realisation frameworks to track value, savings, and risk reduction.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Law, Procurement or a related field (certifications like CIPS, IACCM or an MBA a bonus).
- 10+ years’ experience in strategic procurement or commercial management within financial services or another regulated industry.
- Proven expertise in deal-making, contracting, pricing, and risk allocation.
- Strong analytical and modelling skills (Advanced Excel and Power BI essential).
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, including with executive leaders.
- Deep understanding of compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements in a financial services context.
- Team management and leadership experience
