Fisher Funds is expanding its private equity presence and is seeking a highly experienced and commercially astute investment professional to join our Private Equity team as
Director - Private Equity.

This senior role is pivotal to the continued growth and success of our private equity programme, with a strong focus on direct investment in New Zealand businesses.

As Director, you will play a key role in originating, executing and managing private equity investments, while also contributing to the strategic direction of the programme. You will represent Fisher Funds in the market, foster relationships within the investment and business communities, and provide leadership and mentorship to the wider investment team.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end investment processes — from origination and due diligence to deal execution and portfolio management.
• Identify and drive value creation opportunities across a high-quality portfolio of direct investments.
• Build strong relationships in the market, representing Fisher Funds with integrity and credibility.
• Provide mentorship and leadership within the investment team, contributing to a culture of excellence and collaboration.
• Contribute to thought leadership and represent the firm at industry events and investor forums.

What you will bring

• At least 12 years’ experience in private equity, investment banking, or a related field.
• A successful track record in sourcing, executing, and managing private equity transactions.
• Strong financial acumen and commercial judgement, with deep experience in financial modelling and investment analysis.
• Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• A passion for investing in and partnering with New Zealand businesses.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Business, Economics or similar.
